Boarding & Daycare Terms & Conditions

By making a booking and/or leaving your pet in our care, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking Confirmation & Deposit
A deposit of 25% is required for all bookings over $100.
The deposit is payable at the time of booking and is due immediately to secure your reservation.
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received. If the deposit is not paid, the booking may be cancelled and the space released.

2. Payment Terms
Full payment of the remaining balance is due at check-out.
Christmas & New Year Period
For any booking that includes any dates between 22 December and 5 January (inclusive): The full booking balance is due by 1 December.
If full payment is not received by 1 December, the booking will be cancelled and the space released.
Additional charges (including but not limited to veterinary care, medication administration, food handling, enrichment services, or other agreed services) are payable at check-out or as incurred.

3. Cancellations & Changes
This section applies to cancellations or changes made prior to arrival.

More Than 10 Days Before Arrival: The deposit will be refunded in full.

10 Days or Less Before Arrival: The deposit is forfeited. No refund and no credit will be provided.

Requests to change booking dates or length of stay must be made as soon as possible.

Changes are subject to availability and will follow the same timeframes and outcomes as cancellations.

Exceptional Circumstances: In very special circumstances (such as serious illness or death of the pet), a credit may be granted at management’s discretion only. Supporting documentation (such as a veterinary certificate) may be required.
Any approved credit:

Is valid for 12 months from the original booking date

Is non-refundable

Is non-transferable
No-Shows

Failure to arrive on the scheduled check-in date without notice is considered a no-show. Charges up to the full value of the booking may apply.
Early Departures

No refunds or credits are provided for early departures once a pet has checked in.
4. Check-In & Collection
Check-ins and check-outs are permitted during business hours only.
We are closed for check-ins and check-outs on public holidays.
Pick-ups and drop-offs outside business hours are by prior arrangement only and may incur additional charges.
Boarding fees are calculated on a calendar-day basis.

5. Health, Vaccination & Admission Requirements
All pets must be up to date with vaccinations appropriate for their species:

Dogs: minimum C5

Cats: minimum F3
Vaccinations, including boosters, must be completed no later than 14 days prior to arrival.
Undesexed cats are not permitted at Blue Mountains Pet Resort under any circumstances, and female dogs in season will not be accepted for boarding.
We do not accept pets for boarding within two weeks of vaccination, medical procedures, or recovery from a contagious illness.Older pets or pets with medical conditions may require veterinary clearance prior to boarding and may be refused at management’s discretion.
Vaccination records must be provided prior to check-in. Pets without valid vaccination records cannot be accepted and will be treated as a cancellation in accordance with Clause 3.
Pets that do not meet health, behavioural, or vaccination requirements may be refused admission.
6. Microchipping
All dogs and cats must be microchipped in accordance with NSW legislation.
Owners confirm that microchip details are current and registered with up-to-date contact information.
Blue Mountains Pet Resort accepts no responsibility for issues arising from incorrect or outdated microchip registration details.

7. Parasite Prevention
All pets must be treated for fleas and intestinal worms prior to boarding.
If fleas, ticks, or other parasites are detected during a pet’s stay, Blue Mountains Pet Resort reserves the right to administer appropriate treatment immediately to protect all guests.
All associated treatment and cleaning costs will be charged to the owner.

8. Veterinary Care & Illness During Stay

If a pet becomes ill or injured during their stay, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner or nominated emergency contact prior to arranging veterinary treatment.

If contact cannot be made and treatment is deemed necessary, we reserve the right to seek veterinary care at our discretion to ensure the welfare of the pet.

The treating veterinarian’s clinical decision will be final.

All veterinary fees, medication costs, transport costs, and related expenses incurred during the stay are the responsibility of the owner and payable upon collection.

Owners acknowledge that, despite strict vaccination and hygiene protocols, there is an inherent risk of illness or injury in any environment where animals are housed or interact. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee that a pet will not contract illness during their stay.

9. Behaviour & Safety
Owners must disclose any behavioural concerns, aggression history, anxiety, escape behaviour, or special handling requirements at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or terminate boarding if a pet poses a risk to staff, other animals, or itself.

10. Personal Belongings
Collars, leads, bedding, toys, food containers, and other personal items are left at the owner’s risk.
Blue Mountains Pet Resort accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, or soiling of personal items.
For safety reasons, certain items may be removed from a pet’s enclosure at management’s discretion.

11. Photography & Social Media
By leaving a pet in our care, the owner grants permission for Blue Mountains Pet Resort to photograph and/or video the pet during its stay.
Images or recordings may be used for social media, website content, and promotional purposes.
No personal owner information will be published without consent.
Owners who prefer their pet not to appear in promotional material must notify us in writing prior to check-in.

12. Liability & Inherent Risk
Owners acknowledge that boarding environments involve interaction with other animals and unfamiliar surroundings.
While Blue Mountains Pet Resort takes all reasonable care and maintains high standards of supervision and hygiene, there is an inherent risk of illness, injury, stress, escape, or behavioural incidents in any animal care environment.
Blue Mountains Pet Resort is not liable for injury, illness, loss, or death except where liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

13. Abandoned Pets
If a pet is not collected within 7 days of the scheduled check-out date and no contact has been made, the pet may be considered abandoned.
In this event, Blue Mountains Pet Resort may rehome the pet or surrender it to the appropriate authority.
The owner remains liable for all outstanding fees and associated costs.

14. Amendments & Governing Law
Blue Mountains Pet Resort reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
